Today let us present you Trifun Savic, who joined our team in October 2020.

What's your role at Falco?

My main role as a R&D Engineer at Wattson Elements - Falco is to design and develop low-power IoT products and devices for smart marinas. Moreover, I participate in the definition of the technical and functional characteristics of the solutions and provide with internal/external technical assistance.

As a research part of my work at WE, I have started my PhD studies under CIFRE agreement between WE and Inria Paris, entitled “Localization in constrained environments”. The result of this research will provide a state-of-the-art precise localization, tracking and navigation solution inside the marina for boat owners and marina managers.

Can you tell us a few words about your background?

I am originally from Podgorica Montenegro, where I have completed my Master studies in Electronics, Telecommunications and Computer Science at University of Montenegro. I spent three years working at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, where I participated in the development of low-cost IoT devices and solutions.

Following my constant will for improvement and gaining new knowledge, in 2019 I got a chance to work in Inria Paris Research Center. After almost two years of work within the EVA team, I joined WE team in October 2020.

Why have you chosen to work at Falco?

As a Research Engineer in the EVA team, I participated first-hand in various applied research projects on state-of-the-art low-power wireless technology. It is during this time that I met and worked alongside the WE team and got familiar with their research activities and Falco project.

I believe that the joined research within the Inria Paris EVA team and the WE team is the perfect opportunity to develop my potential and continue my passion for applied research and development.

Can you talk a bit about yourself?

Aside from my inexhaustible desire to learn and develop my professional career, I have a lot of hobbies and I love doing sports.

I especially enjoy playing guitar and playing basketball when I have the opportunity.

I would say that my biggest achievement in life is being a parent. I recently became a father to a beautiful little girl and I am trying to devote all my free time playing with her and watching her grow.
